My Program follows the British Columbia Early Learning Framework, while including a flexible daily routine. Our day may or may not include circle time and follow a 10 month curriculum from The Preschool Palace.

Meeting Children's Needs

Social needs

Children interact with peers and adults; they learn to function as a group member and learn appropriate social behavior through self-directed activities.

Physical needs

Children are given the opportunity to use a variety of physical skills in the gross motor and fine motor center. The program ensures the child has the opportunity for adequate nutrition and rest as required. I provide a healthy and safe environment through extensive and observant supervision to ensure safe play.

Intellectual needs

Children are given the opportunity to explore, observe, to know and understand objects and events in their environment. They are given every opportunity to develop language skills, both in the use of words and in the skill of listening. These are integrated with the development of social, discovery, dramatic play and manipulative toys.

Creative needs

Children are given the opportunity for creative expression, creative problem solving, invention, discovery and experimentation with water, art, science, discovery, music, dramatic play and manipulative toys.

Emotional needs

Children are respected as individual and unique beings. They are encouraged to develop independence, to take initiative to express their anger appropriately and to cope with frustrations; By emulating staff role modeling, children learn to become affectionate and caring

Daily Schedule

Infant / Toddler

7:30 - 8:30am ----- Arrival time

7:45 - 8am -------Breakfast

8 - 9am ----- Free Play

9 - 9:30am -- Circle Time

9:30 - 9:45am ---- Tidy up, diaper/ potty, wash hands

9:45am - 10am ---- Snack time

10:00am - 11am -- Outside time weather permitting.

11am - 11:30pm -- Diaper/potty, wash hands, get ready for lunch

11:30am - 12:00pm --- Lunch

12pm-2:30/3pm ----- Nap/Quiet time

2:30pm -3pm ---- Children wake, Diaper/potty, wash hands, and snack

3:00pm - 4pm ---- Craft/Free play indoors until parent pickup
